Down through the history, stories contain the sightings of sea serpents which are really giant sea worms. Some scientists claim that this is the cause of various Bermuda triangle type mysterious disappearances. Indian legend has it that when man causes an imbalance on the planet the giant sea worms rise from the depths to feed. Giant sea worms may reach 200 ft. in length and could suck down a human in one gulp. The theory is that ships found with the crew missing may have been invaded by a giant sea worm which consumed them for dinner. Sea worms are able to to escape through the holes in nets which is why they are never caught and thought to be almost immortal like the turtle, living and growing for possibly thousands of years which is how they achieve there enormous sizes.  ~Richard Gerber
